In March students from CS-Lait Laval, France, visited the Netherlands for a one-week study tour. They explored the developments on animal husbandry. The group was surprised by the high soil prices in the Netherlands and the high average production per cow. Biological production, the prices for farm cheese and the focus on cost-price reduction and sustainability were important items. The openness and transparence of Dutch farmers and visited companies were regarded as remarkable. In one week several farmers, feeding suppliers, milk processing companies and educational centers and of course Amsterdam and Utrecht were visited.
