My roots are on a farm in the south of the Netherlands and my academic education in the 1980s in Plant Sciences and Marketing at Wageningen University. Since then, I have gathered more than 30 years of working experience in the international horticultural industry as a specialist in the marketing and trading of flowers, fruit and vegetables. My project management, consultancy and training services focus on value chain analyses, marketing strategies, trade promotion and export development.
Apart from my private sector orientation, I have long-standing experience in higher education projects, with a focus on knowledge transfer through linking educational and research institutes with the private sector.
Over the years, I have conducted projects in Eastern Europe, South-East Asia, the Far East, Middle East, Central Asia, Africa and Latin America. Clients and partners know me as a pragmatic consultant, who combines a people-centric approach and an intercultural antenna with problem solving and solution oriented approaches.
