Study tour for Swiss teachers to learn from Dutch agriculture

A group of twelve teachers from Berusbildungzentrum Natur & Ernährung Luzern in Switzerland decided to make the most of their holiday by combining professional development with leisure on a study trip to the Netherlands. HollandDoor took the opportunity to organize an enjoyable trip for this great group.

The itinerary included diverse visits to a variety of farms and businesses, such as IJsseloord Dairy Products with Bart Lubbers, Ekofarm de Lingehof with André Jurrius, and van der Wilt Gerbera's. The group also experienced the dynamic Flower auction and visited Van der Starre, known for their innovative garden center concepts. One of the highlights was an impromptu visit to the World Horti Center, where CEO Puck van Holsteijn welcomed the group and introduced them to cutting-edge horticultural practices. The week ended with a visit to Koppert Cress, where the group learned about sustainable production methods and enjoyed unique tasting experiences.

For HollandDoor, this trip was also a valuable opportunity to gain insight into the Swiss education system, which emphasizes practical, long-term training at various levels. The exchange of knowledge and experience between the two countries was a key takeaway, highlighting the benefits of international collaboration in education and agriculture.
