Korean horticulture students in the Netherlands for an intensive training

After successful editions in 2022 and 2023, the Chonnam National University (CNU) in South Korea asked HollandDoor again to make a training program for her students. This year, they came with fifteen horticulture students from Saturday 22 June until Monday 22 July 2024.

The CNU group started with three weeks tailor-made training that included a combination of plant physiology, cultivation technology, cultivation planning, business and chain management, and various other subjects. Fifteen unique day programs were designed to cover these themes, and each day was filled with half a day of lectures and half a day of illustrative field excursions. With this intensive format, the students received a total of 7,5 full day lectures and visited 29 organizations/companies.

To keep the overall budget affordable, it was decided not to arrange hotel accommodation. Instead, six holiday homes were rented, and the group took care of their own breakfast and dinner meals.

After the three weeks training, the fourth week was spend in Wageningen attending a three day tailored lecture program provided by Wageningen University, Group Horticulture and Product Physiology

Once again, the students gave high marks for the content and facilitation of the training and returned home full of new knowledge and experiences, not only from the content but also from living abroad and enjoying the Netherlands. This will undoubtedly inspire them in their professional careers.
