Coopérative Unéal studies Dutch agriculture

Sovat Agripass requested HollandDoor to organize a four-day study tour program for Coopérative Unéal  from Monday 3 until Thursday 6 June 2024.

Uneal Cooperative Group (hereafter Uneal) unites more than 6,000 member farmers and growers, located in the Hauts-de-France region, located north and northwest of Paris and the Belgian border. Services to members with more than 400 employees include purchasing and sales, facilitation and knowledge exchange. On the purchasing side, mainly the purchase of fertilizers, seeds, crop protection products and other resources. On the sales side, mainly collection, storage and sale of grains, vegetables and meat.

Uneal visited the Dutch agriculture and horticulture with a delegation consisting of young French farmers and growers, all members of Uneal and intended future cooperative directors. The study trip was part of an internal training program to train them in this role. The study trip had a broad scope with elements of animal husbandry, arable farming and horticulture, all activities of Uneal.

Focus themes highlighted during the tour were: future farming in 2030, agro-environmental policies, land management, high-tech greenhouse production and breeding of grains and vegetables, grains im- and export.

The delegation was very pleased with the intensive and inspiring program which connected with their demands and preferences.
