Chambre d' Agriculture de Finistère visits Dutch livestock sector

Sovat Agripass requested HollandDoor to organize a five-day tailored study tour program for Chambre d' Agriculture de Finistère, located in Brittany region in France from Sunday 30 June until Thursday 4 July 2024.

Chambre d'Agriculture de Finistère (CoAF) visited the Dutch livestock farms with a delegation consisting of management and representatives. The study trip had a fairly broad perspective to get acquainted with Dutch livestock farming, with a focus on pigs and dairy cattle. Special attention was paid to the environment (e.g. EU-driven) and policy development, impact on and adaptation by the livestock sector and, where possible, valorization of manure into sustainable energy production. Some highlighted topics were:

  1. Pork and dairy products
  2. Development of Dutch, European and global livestock farming
  3. Reduction of the CO2 footprint
  4. (Environmental) policy development and adaptation of the Dutch agricultural sector
  5. Sustainable (renewable) energy production
  6. Research and information on animal husbandry

The delegation was very pleased with the intensive and inspiring program which connected with their demands and preferences. They invited Dutch counterparts to their region to exchange expertise and experiences.
